The figure above shows that the average age of mothers in Co. Louth increased by 1.4 years
over the period 2006-2016. Comparatively in the State over the same period the average age
of mothers increased by 1.6 years. During the period the average age of first-time mothers in
Co. Louth increased by 1.7 years compared to 2.1 years in the State.
