Z2.4.2 Self-Harm by Age Group and Hospital
The National Suicide Research Foundation (NSRF) reports that there was variation in
the rate of self- harm by region in 2016. The male rate varied from 104 per 100,000 for
Roscommon to 402 per 100,000 for Cork City. The lowest female rate was recorded
for Monaghan (152 per 100,000) with the highest rate recorded for Limerick City
residents at 493 per 100,000.
